The snag of another
fermented hour in
a rain-diluted night
that I have invented
without any real necessity
It wasn’t today or my
father’s lost sideshow
I tried to find in the
breaths between steps
But ticking was out of
time and uncontrolled
cadence crescendoed
without conscience as if
the rain had forgotten
grace and fell only as
a fault of the eyes
