Losing Focus

Midnight Shadows by Edward Supranowicz

Lately, I’ve lost focus.
Cut in line at the check out
by some white trash bitch
with curlers
while she talks on her cellphone
to some cunt
instead of paying
and letting me get on with my day.
Bitch.

Driving into town
behind some old fart
going the speed limit
when I should have been at my meeting
half an hour before.
Old fart.

Taking my dog out
in the cold winter morning
hoping he’ll ‘get busy’ quickly,
knowing the little bugger will sniff and sniff
until his feet freeze, before he’s peed.
Little bugger.

Going on line to reserve plane tickets,
following the instructions
that take me through multiple ads
until I finally reach my destination
only to be told by the asshole
on the screen there’s been a temporary malfunction,
I should try again later.
Asshole.

Waiting in my doctor’s office
while he chats with some son-of-a-bitch geriatric
about his hemorrhoids,
two hours late and still three before me.
Son-of-a-bitch.

Phoning a mutual fund
to redeem shares
to pay my mortgage due at week’s end,
to be told by some fuckin’ dyke
I don’t have phone redemption privileges;
I must make my request in writing,
and don’t forget to have my signature notarized.
It’s my money she’s talking about!
Fuckin’ dyke.

In line at airport security
listening to some motherfucker argue
about the cosmetics in her carry-on
while I wait
already late to board my flight.
Motherfucker.

Lately I’ve lost focus.
My shrink tells me
I need a life.
Who does he think he’s talking to?
Fuck the world;
leave me alone.
Fucker.
